Longitudinal Axial Flow Rice Thresher Performance Optimization Using the Taguchi Technique

Combine harvesters are widely used worldwide in harvesting many crops, and they have functions that cover the entire process, such as cutting, threshing, separating, cleaning. The threshing drum is core working device of combine harvester plays an influential role rice efficiency, power requirement, seed loss. In this study, two structures threshers (conical-shaped cylindrical-shaped) were tested evaluated for performance under different thresher rotating speeds 1100, 1300, 1500 rpm feeding rates 0.8, 1.1, 1.4 kg/s. experiment was designed using Taguchi method, obtained results same technique. structure operating parameters assessed optimized with reference to required power, productivity. revealed increasing speed rate positively related highest efficiency 98% maximum productivity 0.64 kg/s conical-shaped a feed kg/s, whereas minimum 5.45 kW conical 1100 0.8
